Well well, Yes von, I realize i have gone worst than you...ahhaha. Updating blogs only a few months once. I have no idea how much impact technology has on us. I can proudly say, 'Without Internet, I'm Living in the Ice Age'. Not only Ice Age, 'Outdate' and etc. First of all, I would like to thank my music school for giving me some excitement in my life by allowing to go online to check my mail and blog occassionally when there is nothing to do. Since my comp died last week, I'm more devastated than ever, no more daily animes when I go home or any dvd viewing *Sobs*
Anyway, that's the topic of this post. This is about Mooncake Festival! It just passes 2 days ago. I celebrate it with my cousins on Friday the 6th, 2006. Great fun indeed, but a bit cold in this big city. We took a stroll around her housing area with lanterns. Imagine, 4 big girls aged 23-26 carrying lantern and shouting 'Happy Mid Autumn Festival' whenever we see a house with lil's kids lighting candles or houses with ppl eating mooncake outside. As expected, no response :P I wonder if Taiping Lake Garden is still as merry as I last remember. The whole lake area will be filled with families and resembles a morning market.
I havent got any pics from last Friday yet. HOwever, its Aidan's first mooncake festival. Besides that, its also a night where we big gals reminisce about how we used to play lantern last time. For instance, burning pandan leaves and anything we can see, next door neighbours and the gang we formed and etc...
The joke of the night is when we started to ask 'Why does mooncake symbolizes and the purpose of it?
Answer 1 (Tuar)= To throw into the river (Champion)
Answer 2 (Lilow)= Used as secret weapon (what i meant to say was as a way to pass secret messages during war, but i used a wrong word to describe it)-(1st Runner Up)
We started laughing so hard about it. LOL.Well, I guess the newer generation these days do not even understand the purpose of the festival. Other than the super commercialize mooncake being sold in the malls. Its amazing to see how much have mooncake evolved. Traditionally, it has red bean filling, lotus bean filling, the nut one. Today, we have durian flavour, coffee flavor, tiramisu, Ice cream ones and jelly ones as well. Whoahhhhhh! Power!My all time fav is the traditional snow skin (Ping Pei in canto) mooncake with bean paste.
